At Warlingham Park School, we recognise the importance of sport and physical education in the health and well being of our pupils.
Our aim is to give a sound technical grounding of the basic core skills within a variety of sports, gymnastics and dance whilst motivating and encouraging all children to achieve their potential. The house system promotes healthy competition, as does the extensive fixture list against local independent schools with all children given the opportunity to represent the school at the appropriate level.
All children at WPS have one PE lesson and a games afternoon and all Juniors have one fortnightly swimming lesson on their timetable. The school has two netball courts, a sports hall/gym and extensive playing fields that are unique for such a prep school. On the games field, the children participate in many team sports including football, netball, rugby, rounders, cricket, hockey, athletics and cross-country running. Indoors they do gymnastics, dance, fitness and other team and individual sports.
The school is justifiably proud of the extensive range of extra-curricular sports clubs that we are able to offer. These include soccer, netball, golf, badminton, short tennis, dance, “fit, fun & fantasy”, gymnastics, cricket, rounders, athletics, bowls, basketball and multisports.
