Trustees at WPS
Warlingham Park School is a Registered Charity and is managed by a Board of Trustees.
The Governing Body of the school, the Trustees, are responsible for the overall direction of the School. They draw up, implement and monitor the School’s Development Plan, which covers areas such as the Curriculum, Estates & Building Development, Marketing, Finance and Resource Planning.
To ensure that the Trustees meet the requirements of the School as an Educational Charity, the Governing Body is also required to monitor key areas of school life such as Health and Safety, Compliance, Safeguarding and the completion of an annual Financial Audit. The regulatory and legal requirements of the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) and IPSET are all responded to by our Trustees.
Our Trustees are drawn from both educational and business backgrounds and many have a close association with the school. The current Trustees, and their particular responsibilities to the Governing Board, are:
Chairman – Charles Sexton
Charles has been a secondary school teacher and Head of Department for over 30 years. His Trustee responsibilities include oversight of Early Years education at WPS and is also a member of the Estates and Curriculum Committees.
Vice Chairman - Jenny Aarons
Jenny is a past parent of WPS and a Governor of several schools and academies in Surrey and South London. She holds a Masters in School Effectiveness and School Improvement. Jenny has the role of Compliance Trustee at WPS and heads up the Health and Safety and Safeguarding committees. She is also a member of the Marketing and Data Protection/GDPR sub committees.
Trustee – Stuart Sexton
Stuart founded Warlingham Park School in 1986. Prior to founding the school, Stuart was Education Advisor to the Secretary of State for Education and Science of the UK Government. Stuart also manages the Estates Committee as well as contributing to most areas of school life at WPS.
Trustee – Andrew Sexton
Andrew is a Director of a financial technology company based in the City of London and a past parent of WPS. His responsibilities include Trustee oversight of the Single Central Register and is also a member of the Data Protection and GDPR sub committees.
Trustee – Daryl Neale
Daryl has worked in education for 25 years and has special interest in SEN pupils. Daryl provides additional classroom help with Maths and Literacy at WPS and is part of the Data Protection and GDPR sub committees.
Trustee – Ed Sexton
Ed is a Trustee of a charity that helps Refugees arriving in Europe and also a Director of a private investment company. Ed contributes to a number of the sub committees at WPS as part of his Trustee oversight role.
