The Dorset trip started today in glorious sunshine with a two-hour bike ride through the New Forest. Lots of tired legs but plenty of smiles!
After that we headed for our base at Armswell Farm. Our jaws dropped at the size of the place - plenty of room for everyone. The games room in the cellar was definitely the main attraction!
A warm, sunny day at the Ancient Technology Centre saw the party grinding wheat to make their own bread, build a Roman road and learn how to be blacksmiths. In the evening, it was exciting to see the calves that were born last night and stroke the trio of piglets!
Today was the busiest of the week! The morning was spent learning about fossils and the Jurrasic Coast. Then, a lunchtime stop at Corfe Castle was followed by a boat trip around Old Harry's Rocks. The lovely day ended with an evening barbecue on the beach at Sandbanks.
A change in the weather this afternoon but nothing to deter Team Dorset! Monkeyworld allowed us to make some new friends. The orangutans were a great hit! As the clouds rolled in, we were at The Tank Museum learning about wartime Britain. Time to relax in the evening - playing pool and table tennis or in the hot tub! They are having a tough time!!!
Our final morning was spent packing up and heading off for a last surprise activity - laser shooting, which proved popular with them all.
A busy week but everyone had a good time and learned a great deal about themselves.
Comment of the week (heard one evening about how busy we'd been): 'Lunchtime seems like yesterday!'
Well done, Team Dorset!
