Warlingham Park School has announced the appointment of a new Headteacher.

Annie Ingrassia will join the school as Headteacher in September 2022 from Caterham Prep School, where she has been Deputy Head for the past five years.

Bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience from the independent education sector, Annie is looking forward to leading Warlingham Park School.

“From the moment I visited Warlingham Park School I was instantly struck by the school’s highly nurturing environment and commitment to developing the whole child,” said Annie.

“Becoming a Head of a school that nurtures the relationships within the community, values the whole child and offers an inspiring education to all its pupils is something I feel incredibly passionate about, which is why this opportunity truly excites me.”

Annie is an experienced educator who has led and developed successful music departments throughout the UK and Australia. She initially joined Caterham Prep School as Director of Music in 2010 before being promoted to Deputy Head in 2017.

Annie has worked with the academic leads at Caterham to develop an innovative curriculum which has both depth and breadth and is cross curricular in its approach. This included helping to introduce a new Theatre Arts programme (TES Award finalist), explicit Digital Innovation lessons (Caterham is an Apple Distinguished School), Outdoor Learning and Global Citizenship programmes.

As Head of Wellbeing and Pastoral Care, she played an instrumental role in Caterham Prep School being awarded a National Children’s Bureau Wellbeing Award for Schools in 2019.

Annie’s other great passion is music. As a member of The Bach Choir, Annie has had the chance to sing under many high-profile conductors, as well as at performance venues that include Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall (first and last night of the Proms) and Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Jubilee in 2012.

Mr Amit Mehta, CEO of the Inspired Learning Group, said, “I am delighted that Annie is joining Warlingham Park School. We know she will bring her significant and unique knowledge, skills and experience to benefit our children.

“We look forward to providing parents and prospective parents with an opportunity to meet Annie within the next few months.”
