The children of WarlinghamParkSchool joined the Warlingham Flute Band for an afternoon of musical marching this week. The Flute Band led the children around the school playground with their repertoire of lively marches and traditional tunes.
The Warlingham Flute Band, originally founded in 1932, are often seen at local events but took time out to drill the children at the request of Mrs King, Head of Music at Warlingham Park School. “Every child likes to march like a soldier and the Flute Band had a very willing troop for the afternoon” commented Mrs King. “Some of the children are learning to play the flute, fife and clarinet so the Flute Band may also gain some recruits in a couple of years” she added.
