We welcome children into our Nursery from their second birthday.  Our Nursery building is secure, bright and warm and is situated in the quiet and extensive grounds of the Warlingham Park School site.

At Warlingham Park Nursery, we recognise that children are individuals.  Our experienced and qualified Nursery staff pride themselves on providing a caring and friendly environment where children can learn and develop at their own pace. Through shared play and a well-planned programme of creative activities, which include music with a teacher from the main school staff, the progress our Nursery children can make is impressive.

Warlingham Park Nursery children benefit from being able to use the indoor and outdoor facilities of Warlingham Park School, which include a well-stocked library, a large indoor hall/gym, a large outdoor playground and play area and a regularly tended vegetable garden.  Children are also invited to watch the annual pre-school nativity play and join in with the main school on May Day to dance around the maypole.

In addition, every parent/carer has the opportunity to be involved in their child’s learning right from day one, with termly parents evenings, regular musical events and coffee mornings and attendance at Sports Day.

Although we prefer to see our Nursery children progress through to pre-school and beyond, it is not a pre-requisite of entry into Warlingham Park Nursery.  For those who choose to continue into the school, government nursery grants for all three and four year olds can be applied for through the school to offset some of the fees.

Details of our charges and flexible session times are available on our admissions pages.  You will find that our Nursery fees are very competitive.

Don’t forget, we accept two-three year olds into our Nursery in nappies and we are happy to assist our two-three year olds with toilet training while they are in their Nursery year.

Pre-School

The main aim of the Pre-School is to provide an environment where a child's enthusiasm for learning can be stimulated. Every child has the opportunity to develop intellectual, physical, spiritual, creative and social skills in a caring and friendly environment. A variety of activities are provided to encourage progress in Early Learning goals including simple letter, word and number recognition games as well as topics that encompass all the basic learning skills.

Early writing skills, painting, singing and sand and water play combine with elementary workshop practice and computer work to allow the development of a broad-based education.

The children are divided into two classes, based on a combination of age and ability.

Pre-School 1 children attend for a minimum of three mornings each week. The classwork is based around weekly topics which cover a wide range of subjects. There is a good balance between freeplay and workskills.

Pre-School 2 children have a more structured timetable and begin to use schemes of work for reading, writing and their number work. They are encouraged to learn by discovery and experience, much of their work containing some practical element.
