Recording Stars
The whole school’s singing is being recorded in the Sexton Hall on Monday morning. Please make sure all children are in on time for their recording sessions. A CD will be available for sale in due course.

WPS Celebrates May Day
Classes 1, 2, and 3 danced around the May Pole to the delight of not only their May Queen, Charlotte King, and her King, Joshua Harris, but also their classmates throughout the school and their parents. After they had entertained us, the audience was invited to have a go! Even Mr. Donald and Mrs. King had a little dance. What a lovely afternoon.

SATs Week
Despite the decisions of some of the other local schools, Class 7 will be sitting their Key Stage 2 tests next week. Class 3 will be also be taking their own Key Stage 1 tests.

Bikeability Course
In addition to their SATs next week, Class 7 will be taking part in their Bikeability course. This teaches them to ride their bicycles safely on the roads. Those who pass the test at the end of the course will receive a proficiency certificate and badge.

Spring Ball, Friday 21st May 6:00 – 8:00pm
The Friends of WPS are holding a Spring Ball for all the children and their friends. Parents are invited to join in the fun but must accompany children under 5. The Minor Roadshow (professional disco entertainer) will be teaching dance routines and playing musical games. Prizes to be won. £5 per child. Snacks and drinks will be available to purchase, so bring your pocket money. Please fill in the slip behind this and return to the office with your payment by Monday 17th May.

Preston Manor
On Tuesday, Class 6 visited Preston Manor, Brighton, a Victorian house now owned by English Heritage. They were all dressed up as poor children looking for employment as servants in the big house and were put through their paces such as laying the dining table correctly, sweeping the carpets, backing the range, cleaning the silver and preparing food in the Victorian kitchen. Abigail, Molly, Alex and Sid were finally selected to be fourth maid, kitchen maid, oddman and footman respectively.
