WPS Hold Mock Elections On Wednesday afternoon the junior school held a mock election. The pupils of Class 7 wrote and gave their speeches to the rest of the junior school. Speeches covered such subjects like more youth clubs, wardens in all parks to make them safe places for children, the environment, safer streets, and even reforming the electoral processes, not to mention promises of bags of sweets to all children once a week! The children then voted in The Sexton Hall which was transformed into an authentic Polling Station with voting booths and ballot box. It was a close run election. The two runners up were Miss Charlotte King of the Power to the People Party with 8 votes and Mr. Jack Fitzpatrick of the Free People Party with 9 votes, but the winner and new Prime Minister of Warlingham Park School is Mr. Joshua Harris of the The Rainforest Party with 10 votes! Mr. Harris declared that break time will be 5 minutes longer this Friday in celebration of his victory. WPS to Celebrate May Day Parents’ of Classes 1, 2, and 3, you are invited to watch your children THIS Friday 30th April at 2:45 for 3:00 as they dance round the May Pole. (Photos are from last year’s performance.)
SHUKURU – The Warlingham Park School Elephant!! Welcome to our newest member of WPS. The school has adopted an orphaned elephant, living in the Nairobi Nature Reserve in Kenya. She is only seven months old – and growing fast!! She fell down a large drain pipe when only three days old and was abandoned by her mother. She was rescued by a local herdsman, who looked after her until she could be taken to the orphanage. She will stay there until she is about three years old, when she will join other elephants in the reserve. We will be sent regular updates telling us about her progress as she grows up. There will be some more details of Shukuru on the Latest News notice board.

Cricket/Rounders Club: Please bring a drink (and a hat if sunny weather). P.E. Kit: Must be correct regulation uniform. No blue socks this term. No Parking: Polite notice to those drivers who do not know, please do not park next to the school building on the pavement on the right after entering the school gates. This makes it difficult, not to mention unsafe, for pedestrians entering by foot. It also causes a blind spot for drivers exiting the playground. Thank you for your co-operation.
